Join us as we celebrate Siouxland Mental Health's new Child and Adolescent Center. A reception will follow the ribbon cutting. 

SMHC purchased an 8,997-square-foot building (old Pier 1 Building) to create a child and adolescent mental health clinic. This building will serve children ages 3 to 18 to treat serious emotional disturbances (SED). This new facility will offer traditional evidence-based practices along with innovative promising practices. Based on several theories and research, SMHC believes every child has their own learning style, and the same could be said for how they respond to different therapy styles. Creating an atmosphere geared towards our youth's healing and growth is a core value for SMHC. With that value in mind, SMHC will be opening their 7^th clinic which will be specifically geared toward children and adolescents. As the world is changing around our youth, the approaches to how a therapist can connect with them are too. At the new location, SMHC will have dedicated rooms for Virtual Reality Therapy, Parent Child-Interaction Therapy, Sensory Therapy, Art and Music Therapy, Sports Therapy, and Play Therapy.
