Salary: $65,000.00

But can very as needed to perform duties as assigned.

Purpose of Position:
 
This faculty position is not just a role but a key player in shaping the future of the Little Priest Tribal College Associate of Science (A.S.) Chemistry program. The successful candidate will lead this high-visibility position with active engagement in program review and development, student recruiting, and academic advising. In cooperation with the faculty and the College administration, this faculty position will set goals for developing, improving, and expanding the Chemistry Science program. The successful candidate will be able to teach at least 15-16 semester credits hours of the Chemistry courses, including labs. The successful candidate is also responsible for maintaining the lab and procuring equipment and chemicals. Courses include General Chemistry I and II, Introduction to General Chemistry, etc.
 
Job Responsibilities:
 
This faculty position will cooperate with other divisions of the College to develop a clear and compelling approach to recruiting, matriculating, and retaining students.  They will foster relationships, collaborations, and partnerships with internal and external constituencies to identify and develop new opportunities for the Chemistry program. Additionally, they will regularly communicate with internal (students, faculty, staff) and external constituents. This faculty position will be aware of current trends in Chemistry to shape the program's future direction. The successful candidate must teach the subject matter in a way consistent with the college’s mission statement. Other duties include student advising/mentoring, curriculum and program development, and college committee work. Little Priest Tribal College faculty are expected to be excellent teachers and active in service to the college and the community.
 
This faculty position, a unique opportunity, will be funded by a National Science Foundation (NSF) Tribal Colleges and Universities Program (TCUP) – Instructional Capacity Excellence in TCUP Institutions (ICE-TI) grant award (Award No. 2052122) for the remaining term. This provides a stable and supportive start for the role, after which the position will be funded and sustained by other College funds.  The faculty position will be expected to adhere to the proposal objectives and award rules and regulations.
 
Qualifications:
 
Preferred: A minimum of two years of college-level teaching experience. He/she will be desirous and capable of maintaining academic excellence, faculty engagement, curricular assessment, and program standards. Practical interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to
establish and maintain a professional cooperative working relationship with administrators, faculty, staff, and external constituents is required. Strong organizational skills, including ability in
Budgeting and human resource management are required. Ability to think globally, to analyze data strategically, and to set goals and priorities.
 
Minimum Job Requirements:
 
Required: Master’s degree in Chemistry
 
Travel:
Occasional travel is required.
 
Condition of Employment:
